It still surprises me how young he was when he died. I remember him hosting Saturday Basketball on the ABC in the late 90's.

Clinton was a great all-round bloke. He loved basketball as much as he love footy. He taped every basketball game that was televised on FTA TV going all the way back to the 80's.

He was also a very good junior baller, and a great team mate. It was a pleasure to have played on the same team as him.

We used to knock around as kids with his bro but Clinton would never hang out as he was always studying stats & sports mags. It was no wonder he made it but his death was very unexpected & sad!

didn't know the bloke personally but definitely loved his commentary and knowledge of the game and always got the impression he loved and worked hard at his job.

Wonderful story in the Herald Sun about his partner and how it all unfolded. Imagine saying goodbye to your loved one and heading off to your family for the weekend, then trying to ring him and no answer, still no answer, still no answer ..... then his employer rings you asking why he's not at work ..... then your partner's brother rings to break the news.

A champion in every sense and as Rex Hunt said at his funeral ..... at Rex's lowest times after news broke of his affairs etc, one man stood side by side with him as his friend through thick and thin.

RIP Clinton.

Having worked in the same room as Clinton and sat in many press conferences with him, I was always amazed at how well he knew the game, and could recall things without the need for notes.

Was saddened when he passed away, still cant beleive today that such a great man was taken so early.
