David Andersen on the trade block - again

Probably doesn't need its own thread, but meh.

Hornets seem to be offering him as a chip in a few potential deals - to Sacramento along with Thornton for Landry.

Time's running out for him to really prove himself at NBA level though, as his contract is expiring. Though you never know; if the CBA is changed and the cap is reduced, teams may look for ways to shore up their rosters for as little as possible.

Poor old Dave seems to get sent to where the forest of talls is at its thickest.

There's a good chance he could be of use at Sacremento since they only really have Cousins there to shore up the Centre, having Anderson play minutes at the C with Cousins running 4 or visa versa may allow Anderson to show his game some more.

Andersen could be set to break records...the aussie who has played on the most number of different NBA teams!

I genuinely feel for the guy...he had a great opportunity in Houston with Yao going down, only to see him get left behind a 6'6" guy trying to play centre (Hayes) and then get traded to a team that really did not want him, and then another that had no need fro him at all until Okafor went down injured.

He needs to land on a team that he can play geunine backup C and PF minutes and provide scoring punch off the bench.

If Andersen plays for one more NBA team he would equal Longley's record for most NBA teams by an Aussie (four).

Longley (4)
Gaze (2)
Heal (2)
Bradtke (1)
Anstey (2)
Bogut (1)
Schenscher (2)
Jawai (2)
Andersen (3)
Mills (1)

Longley (4) - Minnesota, Chicago, Phoenix, New York
Gaze (2) - Washington, San Antonio
Heal (2) - Minnesota, San Antonio
Bradtke (1) - Philadelphia
Anstey (2) - Dallas, Chicago
Bogut (1) - Milwaukee
Schenscher (2) - Chicago, Portland
Jawai (2) - Toronto, Dallas
Andersen (3) - Houston, Toronto, New Orleans
Mills (1) - Portland

Raises the question as to which Australian club has produced the most NBA players? By my reckoning, it's the Southern Tigers.

Jawai was drafted by Indiana then traded to the Raptors on the same day. He also played at the Timberwolves. So technically he has been with 4 clubs but only played for 2

I think you'll find Jawai actually played in a fair few games for the Wolves. I believe he may have also started a game.

Jawai only played for two teams. He never played a game for Dallas, just Toronto in 08-09 and Minnesota last season. In one game with the Wolves he finished with a team-high 16 points.

Good call...you are right in that Jawai did not play for the Mavs.

As for Andersen, he may have avoided a trade with rumours circulating the Hornets and Kings have verbally agreed to a trade sending forward Carl Landry to New Orleans in exchange for shooting guard Marcus Thornton and cash considerations.

Yep it looks like it's official, Thornton is gone along with cash. What that means for DA when Okafor returns is anyone's guess.

Hammer never played a game for Spurs. He merely travelled pre season with them due to his ties with B Brown!

Educate yourself, orbit. He played six games with the Spurs and got cut about 3-4 weeks into the season.
