Hawks exercise option on Forman

The Wollongong Hawks have chosen to exercise their team option on Oscar Forman's contract, securing his services for the 2011/12 iiNet NBL Championship.

"I'm very pleased to have re-signed with the Hawks for next season. After being at another club for a few years it was always going to be an interesting experience in how it would be fitting in with a new team and organisation. But it’s been an easy process, I’m enjoying playing my basketball with a great group of guys and life in Wollongong has been good to me." Oscar Forman said.

This move seems to be good for both Oscar and for the Hawks, and also takes another quality player off the market for recruitment at the end of the season.

Well no way in hell Oscar wouldve resigned in Adelaide if he was a free agent anyways. Word is a few players league wide are concerned about the idea of play for Clarke because of the system etc he has in place.

All hypothetical ofcourse, but IF Oscar had resigned in Adelaide this season, his career i reckon would be in tatters at this point.

Oscar is all class.

Congrats to the Hawks for the signing, if I was in their position I would have sealed the deal a long time ago.

Seriously when Oscar first left the 36ers about five years ago I thought there was a real chance it could backfire for him but he's gone from strength to strength while playing in some successful playoff teams while the Sixers have only made the playoffs a couple of times in that period.

I also had concerns when Oscar left the 36ers a few seasons back. However he's proved us all wrong and gotten better. Gordie has been great for him this year bringing out his best.

A good move by the club.

I'm glad he won't return to Adelaide under Clarke as his career would go on a down-ward spiral.

Well done Oscar and good luck at the Gong.

Good on him. I was one of his biggest critics when he was with the Breakers but with the Hawks he has been a starter and on of their best performers, breaking the mould of just a 3 point shooter.
