Daniel Johnson (212-C-88) had an amazing evening in the last round for Adelaide 36ers and that's him to receive a Australiabasket.com Player of the Week award for round 23.
The 22-year old center had a double-double of 31 points and thirteen rebounds, while his team was edged out by Tigers (#7, 10-16) 79-76. 36ers maintains the 8th position in Australian NBL. 36ers is currently ranked second from the bottom. But it was their 18th lost game this season out of 26 games. In the team's last game Johnson had a remarkable 58.8% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Daniel Johnson averages this season 9.1ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 33-year old Jamaican guard Corey Williams (191-G-77) of Tigers. Williams impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Tigers was edged by slightly higher-ranked Blaze (#6, 12-14) 82-81. Tigers is still second from the bottom in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 10-16 record. Williams is a newcomer at Tigers and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.0ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 7.0rpg and 6.0apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Gary Wilkinson (206-F-82) of top-ranked New Zealand Breakers. Wilkinson showcased his all-around game by recording 28 points, five rebounds and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Breakers, leading his team to a 91-86 win against the lower-ranked Sydney K. (#9, 8-18). Breakers confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 20 victories and 6 lost games. Wilkinson has a great season in Australia. After 26 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.1ppg (8th best).

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

That's EuroBasket/AustraliaBasket who say they use a largely statistical method. I think the NBL (often) tend to factor in strength of opposition, whether the team was on the road, etc. Cairns at Wollongong was probably the most crucial result of the round.

I dont think it is awarded for the most turnovers, with the importance and timing of those turnovers factored in!

averaging 22.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 2.5 steals for the round as the Tigers went 1-1.

Hitting 5/5 triples and basically winning a crucial game almost off your own hand far outweighs what I saw Williams do on Sunday night, where he played his team out of the game in the final quarter.
