Don't you mean 2000 Shaq?

2000-2002 era Shaq was the most dominant player I've ever seen and the closest thing I've seen to a guaranteed title but for sustained dominance you have to go with Jordan.

Seems no one has chosen the guy I would have 1st and build from there. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar from 1969-1985 (ok, Lew Alcindor from 1969-71 and Abdul-Jabbar after that). No one dominated the league for as long as Kareem did. And even in his later years he was still a very valuable contributor to the Lakers success.

One thing I will say though, its one thing to dominate the NBA for all that time but it wasn't until the 1980's with the Lakers having the likes of Magic, Worthy, McAdoo, Cooper, Rambis etc that he was a regular championship winner.

So there, I'd have Kareem as my 1st pick. From there I'd have to go with Magic as my PG, His Airness @ SG, The Worm @ SF and The hick from French Lick @ PF. That would be my NBA dream team.

Shaq in 2006 wasn't even the best player in his team. He was a mere role player then. I think you meant to say Shaq 2000-02.

I'd like to see jordan in his prime playing alongside Derrick Rose - do you think Rose (having one this years MVP) would become a better player over the length of his career if he had jordan to learnfrom/play with?

I like HoldenV8's dream team - no changes.
