CADEL THE CONQUEROR

Not only did he win, but he did it in style. Blew the Schlecks away in the time trial by finishing second on the stage within 7 seconds of German time trial specialist Tony Martin. To do this after single handedly leading the chase on the previous two nights up two of the toughest mountain stages ever has to go down as one of the greatest achievments in Australian sports history.

I think it is THE greatest individual Australian sporting performance ever.

TDF = the toughest individual sporting event in the world. Cadel = first Aussie to do so.

This = greatest ever!

Yell 4 Cadel!

Cycling's equivalent of winning the America's Cup. An amazing moment and whilst tired, I'm glad I stayed up to watch it live.

yeah was a fantastic achievement, now we just need Webber to win in Germany and that would be a fairly decent weekend for Aus sport.

Awesome effort. Amazing ride and performance.

Will win the race officially tonight. First ever Aussie to do so.

Will go down as arguably one of the best individual sportsman Australia has ever produced.

Cadel was only 2 seconds behind Tony Martin who was the stage winner at the last time check

On the BMC website the team manager says he actually told Cadel to slow down and take less chances so he wouldnt crash or Cadel would've beaten Martin for the stage win which would have been unthinkable before the race, just goes to show how massive a ride Cadel pulled out.. the guys a legend
