What would a specialist three point shooter be expected to shoot? How many attempts and what percentage should he be shooting them at?
Just curious to see what people think really...

I don't think you can say how many shots, its more about getting to the right spots to stretch the defense and open up the key for bigs/slashers. You would expect them to shoot over 50% to keep the defense awake.

Good shooters shoot 90% from the FT line, 50% from the field, and 40% from the 3pt line

Sidenote ... the award at the woolocott last night for best male FT shooting percentage was won by shooting 77%. Lift your game MEN of the aba!
Back in my little eastern European country if you didn't shoot 70% you weren't picked for the high school team.

With the new arc, maybe 40-45% and up. Outsider, there aren't many people shooting at 50% at any real volume.

The best three point shooter in the NBL last season was Benny Anthony. What a stud.
And Sam Harris never missed either.

For a comparison, this is what the NBL averaged last year over the whole competition:
Field goal: 44.1%
3- point : 33.5%
Free-throw: 71.4%
Not as good as you might think...

The thing is in social basketball, most teams play zones. Do you keep shooting threes or is it better to hold back even though your open 50% of the time you get the ball?
