Assorted NBL News this week

Rob Brown is leaving Townsville, looking to base himself in the US and possibly play in Europe. The Crocs are still chasing the signature of their other import, Casey Calvary.

Earlier this week, John Rillie was named as the Crocs MVP in front of 400 guests.

Brisbane have re-signed development player Brad Williamson for two years.

Darryl McDonald has been retained by the Melbourne Tigers for a third season with the option of another after that.

The NZ Breakers squad set to tour CHina only includes three players from their 04/05 squad -- Olson, Tait and Truslove.

A sniff of a rumour around that NZ are looking at Stephen Hoare who is yet to sign with Melbourne.

Rumours that the Sixers were looking to pick up Blake Truslove are now unlikely. Hoare is also said to be off the cards with the team aiming for a young back-up to David Cooper (have to sign him first!) and another player to round out the roster.

Willie Farley is not yet a confirmed signing.

Mat Campbell is back with the Hawks after turning down an offer from the Melbourne Tigers. Team-mate Saville is yet to appear on the NBL's Transaction Tracker. The Hawks have lost Cameron Rigby who's signed with West Sydney.

The Kings are pursuing Mark Worthington, a young Australian college player recently named in the 20-man Boomers squad. The Wildcats were in the running, but word is that the Kings have secured Worthington for 2+1.

Speaking of the Kings, news is that they've nabbed Jason Smith for 2+1 also, and Luke Martin for a couple. The club director is hinting at a Rolan Roberts return, but nothing is confirmed yet.

Today, the NBL is making a decision on the Blandon sale of the Hunter Pirates. No real opposition is expected, but we'll see what happens.

More for this thread:

Hoare almost certainly going to the Breakers where he's been offered a two year deal and starting opportunity.

Rashad Tucker is a possibility for the Tigers, and Melbourne are also interested in Ian Crosswhite after he finishes professional tryouts in the US.

Lanard Copeland's chances with Brisbane have firmed, meaning that he'll probably join Mark Bradtke in the move north from Melbourne.

Rampton and Castle heading to the Hawks it seems. They're looking to get Cortez Groves back also.
