Eltham Dandenong Junior Basketball Tournament

Fixtures aren't on the website yet but was just wondering who is making the trip to Melbourne this year to play?

I have heard it's one of the best tournaments for juniors Australia wide and know quite a few NSW teams go so wondering what the interest is from SA.

Is this tournament any good? As good as the Norwood Classic?

There are 958 team entered in the tournament this year.

STurt are sending 22 team over.

In my experience, it's superior to the Norwood Carnival. Closer in standard to the Classics in A grade but caters for every team & ability. Well organised tournament.

It is the largest junior tournament in the world...and are so close to breaking through the 1000 team barrier this year.

We debated whether to do Norwood or do Eltham this year and chose Eltham. It gets the kids into a routine for travel before mid your tournaments and in our opinion is much better organised and is value for money.

The only issue is the timing before school starts but that compares favourably to Easter for Norwood

It is a great tournament, as a melbournian it is my favourite to strand every year even when traveling to Adelaide over Easter. It is a great standard competition as majority of the best teams use it as like a 'preseason tournament' before they get back into the grading after the long Christmas break.

Great to hear Sturt are having so many teams get to Melbourne to participate. Will no doubt help them when they go back to competing in the SA competition after the long Christmas break.

Looking forward to this years, hopefully it's as successful as ever!

All fixtures were emailed to clubs last Monday night, so families could arrage their weekend in advance.

Fixtures will be placed on the tournament website on Wednesday. The reason for this being the case is because many teams withdraw late and are replaced, or fixtures require altering due to the withdrawal.

You can be sure that the fixtures that go on the website will be 100% correct. Tournament programs will be the same as those the fixtures emailed to clubs, but will include an extra page inside with fixture changes.

Clubs have been kept up to date with fixture changes via email, so they can keep their members up to date with tournament information.

Great to have positive feedback about our tournament. Look forward to having you here later in the week

the tournament is one of the best and big ! it is a great positive for basketball in australia.

they do a great job - i liked it when the wnbl game was on as well - but that seems to have been moved - no doubt the logistics of holding a wnbl game amongst it all would be big - a losing a court for 6 odd hrs during the tourney.

we always look forward to the trip over from adelaide - would not compare it to norwood - different type of tournaments - eltham on a far bigger scale.

It is a good tournament although the update of results electronically is terrible on the Eltham side of the draw. Dandenong side very good. Pity as there is really no excuse about logging on and entering a score to keep things up to date!
