Whyalla Basketball Tournament

Now that the Whyalla Tournament has finished,

Is there any interesting news to come from the tournament?

Any teams that have out done expectations?

Any teams from the North that are looking good leading into SA Country State Championships next month?

Yorkers or "Kadina" were again the dominating association at the carnival . Winning u18 girls, u16 girls, u16 boys and runners up in 14 boys with both u12 teams making the semi's . Not surprising though since this association had 23 reps at albury and ballarat . A point of interest for SA country punters was the tournament MVP awarded to the same player who was added to the u18 squad after it had been released and then doesn't make the final cut for nationals

and rumour has it that the yorkers player was never in the original U18G squad, was only added after a complaint was made (not by the parents). If this is true the player was never going to make the final team.

Understand this its "SA Country" where its actually an achievement not to be picked in a state team. It generally means you have a future in the game at a higher level.
