Sydney Kings announce organisational changes

Sydney Kings announce organisational changes.

Thursday February 16, 2012.

The Sydney Kings today announced an organisational change to complete the remaining 2011-2012 season. The announcement follows a full board meeting held on Tuesday February 14, 2012.

Ian 'Moose' Robilliard will stand down as Head Coach and assume the role of acting CEO of the Sydney Kings, as a result of Stephen Dunn's departure as Executive Director. Mr Dunn, who is also a shareholder in the Sydney Kings. He has been fulfilling the role of Executive Director in an unpaid capacity for the past nine months.

Sydney Kings' Chairman, Mr Phil Hudson, said that the organisation is hugely indebted to Mr Dunn for the exemplary way he has fulfilled his honorary executive role for the Sydney Kings during our re-emergence as an NBL team.

"Stephen is a highly valued and respected member of the Sydney Kings organisation and he will continue to play a vital role as one of our Directors. The Executive Director role was always a short-term solution for us, but Stephen can no longer volunteer his services full time, as he had other matters in need of his attention," Mr Hudson said.

"Mr Robilliard's new position is effective immediately. The organisation is currently involved with a number of negotiations associated with the completion of the current season, and with planning for the 2012-2013 season. Ian Robilliard, who has been with the organisation since it was re-formed in 2010, will bring a strong depth of knowledge and expertise to the table," Mr Hudson added.

"We also welcome Ian's off-court experience as an accomplished sports administrator. As acting CEO, Ian will assume all responsibilities previously undertaken by Mr Dunn; as well as being required to work closely with the Board in conducting a strategic review of the Sydney Kings organisational structure." Mr Hudson said.

Speaking about his new role, Ian Robilliard said it was an honour for him to continue with the club with which he had played, coached, and would now help to administer.

"We have brought the Sydney Kings back to the community and our next goal is to build on our successes over two seasons and look forward to being highly competitive in the 2012-2013 NBL Competition," Robilliard said.

"The staff and management team we have in place have all contributed to our return to the NBL Competition. Their commitment to the team and the values we promote is beyond question. I look forward to working more closely along side our General Manager, David Wolf, as he and his team have all done an excellent job to date," he added.

"In the meantime, we have a few decisions to make surrounding our immediate need for a new head coach and the board has already commenced that process. Our negotiations with our players has also commenced and the organisation will be making a number of announcements over the ensuing months."

Wow first thing moose is without doubt he worst coach in the history of the nbl. So here is an idea lets make him CEO. Wtf. That makes no sense. The next move will be for the new CEO to hire Tim Hudson as the new head coach And then it's more of the same. Please give dmac the gig

lots of things dont make sense. wayne carroll as high performance manager with the nbl courtesy of his friendship with larry, who eventually gets let go from the nbl bc he never did anything. he then shows up at knox, running the new nbl team. strangest part ? the guy carroll replaced, was a star. sold bucketloads of sponsorships, put in a lot of his own money, great business man, then got booted out to be replaced with someone who underperformed at his last job. * shaking head at some of these recent nbl decisions made *

theres no such thing as reform at the nbl. its an illusion people have bought into by rearranging things to appear that way. when you look into how it works a bit deeper as an entering club, thats apparent. overwhelmingly apparent. the nbl will never learn, just keep burning those who could really catapult this sport from the laughing stock external perception that it is. thank god neither bris bid was approved after all that wasted energy when all the signs were there six months ago ! but shunting out the one or two who dared try to change it ? not cool. at all. next year the nbl and glory hunters will pull the same stunts while alienating wealthy business people who really do have an interest in this and the good hearted bball go between that tried and failed to get the nbl to wake up. nbl is a swear word here, of incompetence and game playing. i dare them to bring their fluff promises here yet again next year. fans and the like are ready to body slam them ! :)
