Rondo for Gasol

Whats everyone's thoughts on if the lakers should offer Gasol up for Rondo??
Then with the money the save from getting rid of Gasols big contract they would be able to afford to get Beasley for their next season's first round draft pick (a trade the lakers knocked back yesterday due to $$$)
If they are serious about R. Wallace he then takes Gasols position either starting or coming off the bench.
This would instantly make the lakers a lot deeper.
1. Rondo
2. Kobe
3. Beasley
4. Wallace / Murphy / McRoberts
5. Bynum /

6. World Peace
7. Blake
8. Barnes
9. Who ever doesnt start at the 4.
10.Fisher

If you got Rondo then that might tip the scales in the lakers favour for getting D.Howard, and if that happened that would be a scary team.

Exactly why would Boston do this trade. They would want young players in exchange for Rondo

The Celtics will get alot more for Rondo if he is available. I would imagine they would be after high draft picks and prospects.

Ok, fair enough. what about throw a third team in Timberwolves in.
Gasol to T/W
Rondo to Lakers
Celtics get D. Williams

Plus a few draft picks / fringe players to top up the trade.

Why would the wolves want Gasol when they have Love? Face it, the lakers would need to part with alot more than Gasol to get someone of Rondo's calibre. I saw a trade the other day that would work to the Lakers favour in finding a PG & getting Howard:

Lakers get: Howard, Reddick, Anderson & Lowry

Magic get: Martin, Lopez, Dragic, Ebanks, Thabeet & 2 first round picks (1 from LA & 1 from Hou)

Nets get: Bynum, Scola & Morris

Rockets get: Pau & Williams

Like with any fan based trade proposal there are alot of questions to be raised by this, but I think all teams in this trade get some value. The Nets probably pass and try to convince Williams to stay but if they are inclined to think Williams will leave in free agency they could do alot worse than this trade (It would probably need a pick or 2 coming there way also).

Anon FYI Wolves have already expressed interest in acquiring Pau Gasol... Even though they already do have love.

Why one might ask?

Because those two could quite easily play alongside each other.

If the lakers were able to get Rondo for Gasol, then D.Howard would definately be more interested in signing with the lakers. Once kobe retires they have a superstar duo to build around!!
Until then Kobe, Rondo and Dwight could probably win 2-3 rings!
Be a pretty good big three and they all complement each other!
