Nic Naitanui Dunking

A pretty regular topic of conversation among basketball fans when the AFL season is in full swing is what Nic Naitanui would be like had he chosen basketball as his preferred sport.

This clip suggests he probably would have been rather good.

Love the walk out afterwards too.

He can certainly dunk! Then again, so could Brett Rainbow, and we all know how that turned out.

The clip suggests that he's rather uncoordinated, as does his movement on the footy field. Obviously he's very athletic, but he just looks so ungainly sometimes.

Well at least he has got hoops in the headlines on Foxsports albeit for the wrong sort of reason.

In Perth, the media were still going on about it on Tuesday. Never have Channel 7 ever mentioned a wildcats related story on the radio to advertise the upcoming news bulletin, yet the Eagles get mentioned about 95% of the time. The one and only time Seven mention it is to comment further on the dunk by Naitanui, with the line being "hear what the AFL boss has to say about that dunk". It just goes to show that if it's in the public eye the media will report anything AFL related.

I get it that it's the top sport in Australia, and in Perth, but come on, if your going to keep mentioning the dunk, then how about also reporting on the game as well. 1st v 2nd, Bevo fined $3000, overtime thriller, sellout crowd, controversial finish... And all Channel 7 care about is talking about the dunk.

I know it's a little more exposure for the Cats, but they are clearly the afterthought in this story.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Wildcats are a bit annoyed about this extra coverage, it's actually a bit insulting to their profile. I've seen more highlights of the dunk than ihave of the actual game.
