Question is - Is this real? Or is it just a public cry to get some support for a new building?

Although this season i did notice a large drop off wit crowds (on TV)

G Rudd I just saw ur post of the crocs facebook site how do u feel when the Ceo lies to the fans? Ask about the 3 board meetings just to find money to end the year thats how bad its got.Crowds had fallen each year since 2007-08 Under Ian Smythe From season 2007-08 to 2011-12, attendances dropped nearly 12 per cent to 3855 on average, while from the 2008-09 season membership has dropped nearly 15 per cent to 2784.Most people in town know the crocs are going to community base team next year but it will fail as long as Ian Smythe is running that show.

Want people to come to the basketball, get involved in the local junior competitions, let the kids know that their local NBL team cares about them and over a short period of time you will generate a whole new generation of followers.

Kids want to go with their mates and they have a ball at NBL games, but what is the Croc's market, is it corporate, is it male fans, female fans, couple or families.....?

This is not rocket science, even a losing team can make the effort to connect with the community, try that and see how it goes guys, just might work!!

Calling the people of Townsville 'losers' if they dont come to the semi against Cairns was the last straw for me. The club under smythe is arrogant in its dealings with the community and ignorant of grass roots level support.

I visited my niece in Cairns with her children who attend Tiny Taipans on Saturday's and the place was packed !!! They had Loughton, Rychart and Grabau hands on with the little kids and then they hung around to help with the bigger kids. No wonder Cairns had the 3rd best attendances this year and still growing. Instead of complaining all the time about what the Crocs dont have, focus on what you have - a really good basketball team that has made the playoffs again and reconnect with the community. Winning on the court isn't everything.

This is what happens when you let a High school principal run your team. Smythe is only the tip on the ice berg though. Its the whole little consortium of ageing business men you have too many other commitments to take full interest in the crocs.

Note to Crocs management. You want a new stadium? well 1st you need to fill the stadium you have. What government is gonna shell out money for a club that cant fill what they have? noone is that dumb.

So Simple game plan right here... Crying you will be extinct in 2years? fix it.

Open the wallet give us a team that can actually WIN the title (just like we did when we got Rose, Rillie, Reidy in) and the crowds and sponsors will return. Repackage their image, new uniforms, updated emblem, New music even at games. And hell you may just turn this so called sinking ship around. Giving us a band aid team for the next 2 years to keep cost at a minimum will just make you look like the FOOLS we all know you are

Jethro, neither the team with Rose and Reidy, nor the one Rillie, were able to "win it". During Rose's eight years they were 7-10 in the playoffs and missed them four times.

But made a grand final. Team got closer than any other squad we put on floor. And the fans were their to watch

True, and not trying to dismiss all your points, but those teams were just as heartbreaking as the team from the past couple of years.
