Hi I want to know if anyone can compare the salaries of Australian sports.
eg: Average income for an NBL, A-league, AFL and State Cricket.
Any Ideas?

Averages:
NBL 85k (can get jobs in off season though, most clubs dont spend the full 1mil cap these days)
NRL 170k (solid money for a 2 state league)
A-League 130k (solid money for a 2nd rate league)
AFL 270k (best paying sport in aus and 800+ jobs)
Super 15 120k (only the wallabies etc earn big money)
State Cricket 50k (need to make the aussie team/ipl)
Netball womens 25k (are allowed another job)
WNBL 15k (need another job unless you can make it overseas)

Isn't it sometimes depressing to see how poorly women's sport and female athletes are looked after in general.
What about an average $ wage breakdown of the other basketball leagues that actually offer some payments in comparison to how many jobs are out there like the SEABL etc.....?
Since this is a hoops forum, it would be interesting to compare the average Euro' League players with Asia and South America (dare I say include the NBA also)!
only the best get top dollar bear, sadly female athletes arent the best and as a result there isnt the level of support to generate high wages for them.

increase the sponsorship, gate takings and media / public support and anyone can make big $ until that happens - you have to take what it offers.
LJ has shown what women can earn sports wise - so it is not all doom and gloom.

I heard about 10 yrs ago a good female player could earn 200k in euroleague
