Crocs re-sign Cedar Brothers

Both Cedars agreed to contracts last night.

Chris is on league minimum, and Mick is on a reduced contract from last year.

The Crocs have three roster spots left and have spent hardly any money whatsoever, leaving the door open for two imports and a big name Aussie (or a money saving season). The club is currently reaching out to Gary Wilkinson and Julian Khazzouh.

PG: Chris Cedar, Mitch Norton
SG: Peter Crawford, Mick Cedar
SF: Todd Blanchfield
PF: Jacob Holmes
C: Ben Allen, Russell Hinder

Mick, I think they only have 25 points left, so expect two big money players in the last two spots.

Big Sexy, plus they'd have Luke's money leftover still to spend. I don't think they're in a terrible position to be honest. If they got someone like Wilkinson and a decent PG import, they'd be in a reasonable position.

They might try and save some dollars this year due to the finaicial position of the club.

That isn't the worst list running around if you get 2 solid imports.

Yeah but the longer Townsville goes without winning it all, the less the locals will care, and the less they'll come to the games.

No one so far on this roster can score inside of 10 feet. Not one player. That's the biggest need to address.

Your not the only one that made that mistake, the Crocs facebook page did the something, but left Norton off.

Before Schensh left, Ceo Smythe was talking about the possibility of resigning the whole team and adding Hinder (11 players) and still being under the points and salary cap.

I can only assume this is what they are thinking, especially with norton, chris cedar, hinder, Allen Blanchfield and Michael Cedar all on either minimum salary or fairly cheap.

If you add Gill back in, a quality import big and an Aussie 3 to help out Blanchfield, they are looking ok.

Or gamble on Norton, and the Cedars to run the point and get a stud import 3 and 4/5.

I'd rather bring back Gill & Mims (mims wouldnt be on much) and add Baynes, Kazzouh, or another top flight international-quality C, if it fits in with the NBL's stupid points cap. It would fit under salary cap.
