Boomers take on a talented Brazilian team tonight in what I believe is their second last hit out before the London games...

For those keen to catch the live stats, the game tips off at the Rhenus Sport arena in Strasbourg, France at 3:30am AEST. The live stats link is outlined below.

Boomers vs Brazil Live Stats

Aleks Maric (leg) is expected to sit once again and s expected not to see any action until the games begin...whilst captain Matt Nielsen (hamstring) is only likley to play limited minutes as reported on the BA website.

Australia up 19-17 after 1/4. Then score just 3 points in the next 5 minutes.

With 15 minutes played, 10 players have received more than 3.5 minutes. This is with Maric sitting out. Maybe Brown won't cut the rotation down below 10.

That is, Australia score just 3 points to go down 30-22.

Now 34-27 with 3:30 left in the half.

Australia down 44-36 at the half. Aussies still struggling with 11 turnovers (to Brazil's 3). That's the main difference in the game and a continuing concern.

Of those 11, Mills has 3, Gibson, Ingles and Delly all with 2 each.

The margin was created in the 2nd period. Although the Boomers recovered by scoring 14 in the second half of the quarter, they let Brazil score 2 in that 2nd e quarter.

67-57 with a quater left. if we can keep it to single digits things still look OK for our match up in the olympics (seeing as we have maric to come in)

David Andersen (16 points, 10 rebounds) led the way on the scoresheet for the Boomers, with Patty Mills (14 points) and Aron Baynes (12 points) providing support.

Nene (12 points, 11 rebounds) and Tiago Splitter (15 points) the standouts in Brazil's 16-point win.

One would think a fit Maric and Nielsen could help curb Brazil's fron court?

Regarding Maric's injury, what are the injury replacement rules for the olympics? Is there a cutoff date for when a player is allowed to be replaced or has that passed?

(Obviously fingers crossed Maric is ok as he is vital as our starting centre)

Australia had 21 turnovers to Brazil 7.

Newley and Mills had 4 turnovers each but only 2 assists between them

Gibson 3 turnovers in 8 minutes. He has usually been very safe with the ball. Good to see Crawford get a run, 8 points in 13 minutes shows there should be more of it. He's our best shooter.

Maric and Neilsen WILL pull up. there not that injured there just being save dfor the olympics! and yes dont jump off the ship yet. Argentina couldve jumped off there own ship after spain thrashing them but now they have played convincingly V america.... Seriously, you people are such bandwagon hoppers! were not even playing wiht our full team yet and looking at the minute distribution, I guarantee you that patty Mills/Newley wont be getting just 20 minutes a game in the real games!!!! add Maric/Neilsen may b different!@

I'm not entirely sure, but I think they only name two injury replacements, and they are Damian Martin and Ryan Broekoff.

How much could we really hold back from Brazil? I can't see the Boomers planning "let's not show Brazil how careful we can be with the ball". 21 turnovers is extremely high for an international game. They will be lucky to get into the quarter-finals if that continues.

from all I saw of Maric he just ha d abit of a corky? didnt look like a series ending injury, and neilsen has been playing, all but limited minutes so really we only had 2 of our 4 bigs. and then theres Baynes gettin decent minutes... he wont get more then 10 in the olymnpics as his finnishing near the ring can be downright atrocious... when the olympics come its a diffwerent game and win or lose I would bet its gonna be alot closer. 16 points is not insummountable... its not great but it can be covered
