NBL news, bits and pieces
Rhys Carter has signed as back-up point guard with the Razorbacks after a one-year dalliance with AFL.
"Being away from basketball for six months made me realise that basketball and the NBL is where I really want to be," he said.
The NBL have approved the sale of the Hunter Pirates to private investors and will remain in the Newcastle region.
Hawks have signed Ben Castle and Tony Rampton, and offered Mike Kelly a coaching role to appease the second year remaining on his contract. Ex-Hawk Cameron Rigby has moved to the Razorbacks.
NZ Breaker Dillon Boucher is considering Australian clubs but may have his ideal price set a little too high after a fairly average season in 2004/05.
The Breakers have returned from China where they played in a four-team tournament, winning all four of their games. One-time Sixer benchie, Blake Truslove, posted admirable stats on the tour. The Melbourne Tigers also played on the tour.
Andrew Gaze has earmarked a press conference next week as the time to divulge news of his playing future -- it is believed that both Lindsay and Andrew Gaze will announce their retirement. Taking the coaching reins of the Tigers is Al Westover.
