started all last season, why change it, will start but after first changes, likey go to bench as we only have 2 wing men sf, massingale hasen't proven himself yet a nbl level, coming off the bench might make it a easier transition for him. without high expectations he should do ok, towards the middle or end of the season who knows if he's playing well starting might be a better option.

Townsville's starting lineup to the start the season is

Jason Forte
Peter Crawford
Todd Blanchfield
Jacob Holmes
Curtis Withers

Then I see an option for the rotations as follows:

Chris Cedar or Mitch Norton (in for Todd Blanchfield)
Peter Crawford
Jason Forte
Jacob Holmes
Curtis Withers

Then you bring on one of the big guys (Hinder or Allen) for one of the forwards, and play a traditional lineup for a bit

Chris or Mitch
Peter Crawford (could sub in Mick Cedar at this point)
Jason Forte
Jacob Holmes
Ben Allen or Rusty Hinder

Crocs have lots of options and versatility, but at the same time they have some lineups they need to avoid at all costs. Like this one:

Chris Cedar
Mick Cedar
Todd Blanchfield
Russell Hinder
Ben Allen

The big determining factor in how far the Crocs go this season is the coaching staff recognising exactly which guys play well together, which rotations always cough up leads defensively, who to rest when, etc.

The whole season is basically riding on prefectly executed substitution patterns.

I think the Hawks will either start Martin and another import with Hurdle off the bench, or:

Import
Hurdle
Saville
Forman
Davidson

Beat Sydney (who had both imports and Smith) on Friday without either of theirs or Gruber.

Sorry for discussing lineups in a basketball thread in a basketball forum about basketball lineups.

Your sarcasm is >totally< warranted.

Sydney look like finishing bottom

Towns-ville's team have reasonable players at all positions except the point, Forte may surprise me but i see him more at the 2 or 3 posy, leaving Norton and cedar. Norton's from college so he might develop but certainly wont spin heads straight away, and may need to be nurtured in which just leaves the cedars and one of them is more sg. So if Forte isn't a genuine pg they will struggle against the rest of the league pg's in the league.

You've certainly got plenty of opinions, that is for sure!

I just though since Paul Woolpert has to "prefectly (sic) execute substitution patterns" then he should talk to someone as knowledgeable as you!?

You just "though" what? Fully sic, mate.

Mate, this place is for basketball fans to share and debate about their opinions with other basketball fans. I think you are a little confused about how forums work.

If you're going to sling mud under the immunity of an anonymous alias and then make a typo in the same post where you are paying someone else out for making an innocuous typo, you need to really have a think about your priorities in life.

C: Tragardh - Rychart
PF: Loughton - Edwards - Andronicos
SF: Hill - Grabau
SG: Steindl - Gliddon
PG: Wilson - Williams - Bruce

Townsville and Cairns will match up really well.

Should make for some great basketball games this season.

Expect Loughton play more C than Trig - Loughton played C for Perth before he left for Europe.

Also look for Bruce to get more minutes if Williams doesn't step up to the plate fast. Shaun is right there!

Cheers Mick.

With Edwards, loughton probably will play more c now, probably start edwards in the pf role too, and loughton back up c.
If their young new recruits( steindl, gliddons) are decent and both their imports step up (wilson was very good last year). Cairns look pretty good if also stay injury free.

Three of the upper tier teams are going small ball this season:

Cairns
Townsville
Perth

With Adelaide and NZ going with a more traditional lineup.

Will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

small and fast paced is always is always exciting, and all teams look reasonable, soon as a a big man on one of those small teams goes down, they will struggle to match up:

Say if cairns loose Tragardh or loughton
backing up them is rychart and edwards against the like's of schenscher, johnson, or even johnson, petrie, Pledger, vukona or pledger, hudson could cause big problems.
But in saying that our league has always been relatively small line-ups and teams have done ok. I have always like the traditional line-ups.
I would even like to see tragardh play more a pf role and have a big c backing him up, think he would go up another level, great in offense but struggles sometimes in d with the bigs.

Deleon in a hawks singlet this season, if their guards can work together well, davidson stay injury free and has a better year they should be ok.
