I think (if his ankle doesn't trouble him) Abercrombie will be in the hunt for MVP this season. Had his 3ball going last season and his mid range jumper to go with his athletism at both ends of the floor. Otherwise Lisch or Jackson.

Breakers for the 3peat.

DPOY: Damian Martin
6th Man: Anthony Petrie (if only because Jesse Wagstaff may start over Cam Tovey)

Interesting to see all the picks of Blanchfield to nab MIP this year. I've worried about his lack of killer instinct and competitive drive before, having seen him get out-dueled by inferior athletes/ball players in lower leagues in the past. Hope this is the year he puts it all together and starts to rack up more points in the paint and finish through contact.

I also think Abercrombie could have a legit chance to scoop up both MIP and MVP if he has a crack at it.

Also, lol @ A.W. picking Townsville to come last.

Having not seen any of the Crocs imports, I'm picking Scott at this point also. If Braswell goes, it could be a scapegoat situation. Cairns have enough frontcourt depth to cover for Edwards. Melbourne don't have the same insurance with Burston and Ballinger there.

Isaac, Not sure what they're like game wise but both of the Crocs imports look like serious customers.

Anon, no scrawny midgets there! Going to come down to how well the Forte experiment runs, I think.

Lots of question marks around the Crocs, but then I'm wrong every year. e.g., Hinder coming back, Allen having another shot at making his mark, Holmes potentially distracted by parenthood, fan frustration with Cedar even?

Can't wait to see how some of these new rosters go.

Forte looks muscly as. Especially if hes playing Point Guard. If the Forte experiment works and the young guns improve The Crocs could be scary.

Spinner - If Marty takes this team that finished bottom the last few years to a Grand Final, how would that not make him worthy of Coach of the year? I am confident we will be playing in April.

J, how can you rate 2 imports you have never seen and with that, rate them the best import combo? Imports can look good and may have even played well in other leagues, doesnt mean they will play well here!

The two almost guaranteed of a top four finish are Breakers and Wildcats. Sydney without the Big Sneeze should take out the wooden spoon and won't Marty be glad to hand that baby over. Maybe there should be an official wooden spoon handing over ceremony.

Adelaide should be the big improvers this year. I like the addition of Petrie who should give the side some much needed rebounding biffo. The teams are all pretty close so any injury to key players will upset the apple cart.

Imports? Gee, Adelaide has had the knack of picking the ugliest, clumsiest, most un co-ordinated goofy girl at the high school dance for a few years now. Let's hope any Adelaide import doesn't have two left feet this season

Table
1: NZ
2: Cairns
3: Perth
4: Adelaide/Townsville
5: Townsville/Adelaide
6: Wollongong
7: Sydney
8: Melbourne

Townsville and Adelaide will battle for fourth. Anyone with half a brain will write off Sydney and Melbourne. Wollongong have a marginal chance, will be great to see their American backcourt, Hurdle looks sleek as feck.

MVP: Adris Deleon
MIP: Alex Pledger (Abercrombie is already elite, he won't get MIP)
ROY: Clint Steindl
DPOY: Damian Martin
6th Man: Aaron Bruce
COY: Aaron Fearne

Sydney are ok but lack depth so are susceptible to injury and key players having off nights.

Townsville have talent but are far from a finished product and will rely on two young PGs.

Melbourne looked better than I thought. Should definitely be competitive but not great.

Cairns rely a lot on Wilson but will be good when he plays well.

New Zealand are New Zealand but Wilkinson is a big loss.

Adelaide have a lot of offensive talent and are clicking but still seem to have issues defensively.

Wollongong have a nice team but are susceptible to frontcourt injuries.

Perth are still Perth but Nevill is a big loss.

Most of all, it's hard to tell too much until the real stuff starts!

There goes my prediction of Townsville winning the spoon and there goes everybodies first import sacked predictions.

Surely Townsville can't assemble anything worse than they just did?

I still bottom 3 and getting wooped a few times with Melbourne and Sydney. But Sydney for the spoon now.
