Nathan Jawai posting big numbers

It's only preseason but big Nate is killing it for Barcelona. To anyone who watches Euro ball, what's the reason for the rapid improvement?

Well he has put up big numbers before, it's just that he hasnt done it consistently. Fitness and defence (which are strongly linked) have been his limiting factors.

While this is only pre-season, and there have still been some questions about his D, let's hope a fitter Nate translate to a season full of good performances. Who knows what might come his way after that.

You kidding paul? His defence in Barca has been nothing short of awesome, Nate's coming off the pine and killing it, he is playing some crazy good ball!

I havent seen him play there Benno, but have read a couple of comments on various forums pointing to his defence. I cant wait to watch him when the real stuff starts, hopefully he can keep up the good form.

he looks trimmer and fitter. this is his key, when he is trim and fit he has that explosiveness in his game and has that extra effort. he is looking fit atm, saw some footage of him even last year and he looked bloated compared to where he is at atm. of course injuries doesnt help as he needs to keep training and playing. would have been usefull at the Olympics. he looks motivated now.

Exactly, he looks motivated. For the first time in his overseas career, he seems motivated. Even in the NBA, he was very complacent on court. Although, he should still grab more rebounds than he is.

Will be more important to them than Ingles and could possibly have a much better year.

Saw a picture of him in a Barcelona uniform the other day, looks much slimmer which is very good.

Just goes to show you that the NBA's "Bulk-up, and put on muscle" policy isn't always right.

His power and explosiveness has always been a strength of his, and he has very good natural strength.

No need to have him on a crazy lifting program.
