P&V Holdings to own new NBL team?

Rumour around the traps is that the new nbl team will be owned by P&V holdings. Talk is the P&V represent names of two guys from a bayside association. Not too tricky to work that one out!

Pretty sure P&V is referring to two people who are connected to a melbourne club that were involved in the last bid that didnt get off the ground. Can't be 100% sure though.

Has there ever been a team coming into the NBL that has been surrounded by as many rumors as the new Melbourne team? I can't wait to see these guys play but wow so much drama. Some rumors reported just on here about the team in the past few months:

Alleged rumors re: new Melb team

1) Larry was let go from BA for giving his mates at Knox more info on how to get their bid up over the other bids (don't believe this for a second)

2) The team was to be sponsored by Microsoft in the biggest sponsorship in Australian Sport with the new stadium in Knox to be called the XBOX Arena (even Boti hinted at this in an article)

3) BA had called a press conference to announce the team which was abruptly abandoned

4) The money didn't come through meaning the team didn't get off the ground

5) The team is now owned by the mysterious P & V Holdings and can only assume which two bball big wigs they are who share those initials.

6) A lot of time is being spent putting this bid together in the Knox office?

Who knows if any of them are even true. I hope a team does get off the ground but there are certainly a few questions lingering.

Its no news re Knox its common knowledge that a person at knox is in sync with P & V. They were involved together in previous bid so no surprises there. Word has it Knox needs this to happen, not exactly sure why? Fantastic if it pans out positively but from what you hear not too many are confident in those steering the ship. Have to say I'm a bit confused as to why its continually referred to as the Knox bid if P &V are the owners, or are Knox in partnership with them or just the person from Knox involved. Many conflicting opinions out there at the minute!!!

WOW, MICROSOFT! But I disagree with Larry helping the second Melbourne team, he would rather have helped the Brisbane team but if the team was going to be sponsored by Microsoft, Larry might have helped.

Old boys club got Larry involved...Who at Knox would be closest to Larry and have inside running?.....Knox was always going to try and involve some of the other associations ( or some people).Maybe the new stadium extended the Knox finances to breaking point and new team along with sponsorship will carry the load.
Microsoft is the money source or should it be said the Bill Gates foundation

I'm not from Knox so can't clarify how much truth there is to this but have heard there are financial issues there and the NBL team is imperative to aid their cause. How can a club of that size have financial issues???????????
