Townsville Crocs' lack of cheerleaders

Found this somewhat tragicomic given the Crocs' 0-10 start to the season.

This year's squad was deemed "not up to scratch", "unorganised" and "not athletic enough" after its debut performance at the Crocs' second home game against Sydney on October 26.
Cue "Which Crocs group?" jokes...

After that assessment, the Crocs cheerleaders were effectively put on hold and contracted dance troupes used. At the last game, the regular crew were unavailable and the team were without cheerleaders for the first time in 20 years.

Probably explains their on court success if they're that focused on the cheerleaders...

CEO quits, Cheerleaders fired, 2 imports fired, Ben Allen's projection went from "could be All-Star this year or at least MIP" to bench player.. Never a dull moment up north!

If only they adopted a similar approach to keeping certain members of their playing group off the floor...

If only they were as eager to get rid of some of their players.

This season is such a joke on and off the court. It's just incompetence at every turn.

I knew since forever that Ben Allen was a dud. I cant believe everyone was so high on him. Hes just another styrofoam soft big guy who can shoot 15 footers and thats really all he is good for. The league doesnt need more of them, we need guys with more skills.. I suggest he goes and dominates in Holland or Malaysia or something and stop uglying up our league

this is a MASSIVE over reaction due to a rival cheerleading group taking over from another - its like a big public cat fight!

Crocs had nothing to do with it apart from an unauthorised crocs employee saying she 'wasn't allowed to say' why one group wasn't asked back.

Everything is magnified when you are 0-10

Crocs forward Jacob Holmes said he was sick of the negativity surrounding the Croc's losing streak but people needed to put it into perspective.

"We're getting talked about everyday about how we're not very good... and it hurts," he said.

"But it's not the worst thing in the world. We're not in the Gaza Strip, we're still at the Crocs club, there's not bombs hailing down around us, so just move on and enjoy what you're doing."

Maybe if they didn't pay contracted cheerleaders they could save some money.

This is what I heard. Two girls from last years squad (who were great) left town to live in Brisbane, one of them was the choreographer. I heard the other girls then decided they weren't interested anymore (not sure if thats true or not). They then brought in a very young inexperienced squad, apparantly from Smythes old school Town High, to take over who were just not up to scratch.

Well organised again!
