i understand it is usually 10 years straight as a player, committee, coach y/n ?
or can it be player 5yrs, committee 3 years, coach 2 years etc ?

I understand the 10 district clubs have a fair bit of variation in their interpretations of 'life membership' and what benefits are bestowed on a life member.
My club started years ago with only Life membership for playing at ABA level for 10 consecutive years or 200 games. Then senior team coaches and committee members were included for 10 years continuous service.
Later junior coaches and non-committee members for 10 years service.
More recently any combination of the above have been added.

Life Membership criteria are designated in a Club's Constitution.
All clubs have different criteria, but they usually have playing life membership based on a number of games played, or non-playing life membership for those who have played their part on committees or coaching.
Some clubs have bylaws that once a player has played in the national league or Australian team, it's automatic life membership.
