Melbourne Tigers high-flyer Lucas Walker has been named the National Basketball League Player of the Week for Round 12 of the iiNet NBL Championship after a brilliant performance in the Tigers overtime win against the Wollongong Hawks on New Year's Eve.
Didn't see the game, did he deserve it or are the league just sick of giving it to Cedric Jackson every other week?
Sign of the official NBL Apocalypse if true....

and then going by previous POTW awards Jacksons numbers over 2 road wins should have got him another award.

This is a tragic low point in the history of the NBL. I don't know if a recovery is possible from a depth this low.
From what i hear Walker played a great game on the weekend. Mystro - you seem to have an unhealthy fixation on anything to do with Lucas Walker! What's up with that??

I was at the game, Walker did have a break out game. What did he get? 19-13 or something...
He was big in the clutch and had a few monster blocks. In saying that I thought Will Hudson or Ervin would have won it this week.

I thought Ervin, Lisch or Jackson (and Hudson if his numbers in the Taipans game were slightly better after the Sixers game) would have taken it this week.

Hudson kept scoring against Adelaide, but didn't so much work for it as continually be in the right place at the right time. Great effort, but perhaps Walker was more proactive with his efforts? If that makes sense.

Who cares whether Walker won the award? The real news is that only FOUR players were listed in the honorable mentions!
Walker had a great game and was the difference between the 2 teams. Give some credit where it's due.

From the league that gave us Chris Goulding as All-Star MVP, now we get this.
Quite the embarassment for the league.
Walker's Mum must have worked quite hard in the last couple of days.
and Adelaide still cant win in this league...Marcus.
