I love it, Charlotte are the Hornets not N.O imo

Like most people I initially thought the name was bizarre. But after learning how much the pelican actually represents the state of Louisiana (it's all over their flags and emblems) I find it more than appropriate. The Hornets franchise was just never a good fit for a city with so much culture and history of its own.

The new logo and colours look legit too.

Good news.

I don't mind it especially if this represents the city more.

I also hope the Bobcats take back the Hornets name again. It never felt right or the same when the change happened previously.

I'm with you Jim Bert. I'm sure having a magpie as a mascot or Crows as an AFL team seemed weird to some at first.

If they'd managed to regain "Jazz", I wonder what Utah could've used? They have a bunch of state emblems, but a few revolve around beehives and bees. Utah Bees? Too similar to the Hornets, I guess.

I thought the Delicate Arch would be one of their official emblems as it's on their license plates, but it's not. For me, ignoring the Mormons and the state's alcohol rules, the dominant theme of Utah is awesome rock-formation-heavy national parks. Bryce, Zion and Arches are amazing places.

Perhaps Adelaide should become the Hairy Nosed Wombats?
