sort some under or over performing junior teams out ?

western u12 g D3 ? - to d2 ?

tigers u14 g div 2 ? - to d 3 ?

western magic u14 g div 3 ? - to d 2 ?

woodville u14 g D3 ? to d 4 ?

centrals u16 g D2 ? to d 3 ?

western magic u16 g D3 ? to 2nd d 2 team ?

west u18 g D2 ? to d 3 ?

these teams have either won it all or won no games - with % either 200 or less than about 50.

Are you from Western Magic lobbying through this forum? If you want to play Div 1 or 2 go to West or Woodville!!

'western u12 g D3 ? - to d2 ?'

No. Only if BSA continue to contradict themselves re: association club policies... oh wait

'tigers u14 g div 2 ? - to d 3 ?'

If Tigers nominate div2, they'll get div2...

'western magic u14 g div 3 ? - to d 2 ?'

No. You do realize they aren't overachieving? Last two rounds of the regular season: Forestville 4 beat them and Sturt 3 drew with them.

'woodville u14 g D3 ? to d 4 ?'

No. They want to enter a team into div1 by poaching players from other clubs, not relegate their only team to div4.

'centrals u16 g D2 ? to d 3 ?'

No. If Centrals nominate div2, they'll get div2...

'western magic u16 g D3 ? to 2nd d 2 team ?'

Same situation with U14G; Magic are on par with Forestville and Norwood.

'west u18 g D2 ? to d 3 ?'

No. If Bearcats nominate div2, they'll get div2...

'these teams have either won it all or won no games - with % either 200 or less than about 50.'

Clearly you didn't do your homework.

Well said, 881. Move your kid to an association club and save yourself a lot of disappointment.

Can someone explain why only association clubs can play div 1 & 2?

Summer season is all about sorting everything out. I'm sure that most clubs who have teams in the wrong div will look to alter them Have some faith in the clubs to do the right thing

Because they have ABA pathways for juniors , not just juniors.

If at Magic and you want to play Div1 or 2, go to one of these clubs

Yes they require a pathway for juniors to the ABL but they also should have:

An Aussie Hoops program (entry-pathway)
Domestic league or attachment to an existing one
Child Protection Officer and policies etc, etc.

Its not just about a new club badgering their way into division 1, its about pathways and supporting existing clubs, gees there are ten to choose from.

If you want to play for Magic, Uni etc. understand what you have signed on for. Its not about just your interests but about the association as a whole.

Are we willing to see Woodville fold because they do not have enough girls playing whereas Magic could only provide two div 1 teams at a low standard.
Drop the egos and sort it out.

Feagle. Is right

Just because you leave a club and start a new one, doesn't mean you get Div 1 on results. You have to have a program you earn div 1, not just a bunch of people leaving a club.

I think we have too many clubs now!

Do a Netball decision, tough but needed

The deal with West was killed by Basketball SA,let some teams play in div 2 at least !

1) I am not a western person.
2) the precedent has now been allowed by western getting an u16 d2 g team- that was on results.
3) agree with woodville and west being full at div 1 level before any new clubs get started at div 1 level. but this thread is not about that - it is about putting the kids in an appropriately skilled / competitive group.

several clubs had to work their way up through the ranks.

@Ringlord - How about no?

@aristotle - If the goal is to put "the kids in an appropriately skilled / competitive group" then why single out Magic as the club that should have their teams promoted? Why aren't Sturt's boys allowed two div1 and div2 teams they can clearly fill? Same goes for Forestville's girls?

Obviously you know the answers to all these questions and your own, but are just hoping enough of your Magic buddies agree with your point of view to outnumber the clear majority.

To that I say:

Sturt u12 div 3 team 3 undefeated throughout all 3 phases as well . should be a Div 2 team

Those players are free to go to another club if they believe they should be in Div 2.

Except that they would realise that they would be moving to an inferior service.

Which is why for the past 20 years kids rarely move from good teams.

Very sure they'd get better service at another club then at a club that has zero interest in servicing players/teams below division 2

Obviously they think otherwise, hence why they haven't moved in the past.

Why do they think that? How is that what's best for the competition as a whole?

Parents are interested in what's best for their child, not the competition.
And the lack of movement from these teams to higher divisions at other clubs suggests they believe it is where they are at.

A better question is why YOU think that the club in question has zero interest in servicing the lower division players? Or is that just your propoganda to try and entice them elsewhere?

Playmaker Mo, put it out of your hand & stop playing with yourself whilst looking at a poster of Woodvilles glory days.Things have changed & Western have a truck load of girls teams that you need.Lets be progressive and not so negative, nobody is asking for div one,but if a team can play in div 2 surely it would strengthen that age group & division!

Woodville and Magic are both rubbish clubs. Magic have zero girls teams that should be playing at Div 1 level, and Woodville have the same. If you live in the western suburbs and want quality, you will have to take a bit of a drive!

I don't see West kicking arse in girls b ball either, one good under 18 team doesn't make a club legendary.

Exactly right ringlord, when I said take a bit of a drive I didn't mean in the direction of Port Adelaide.
