Why do people bag D2 clubs when they try to get publicity for they teams?

the D2 team know they are D2 and all want to progress to D1 and beyond but have limited rescources.

Original article is from the Star Community Gazette, local news that appears to have been copied to the Big V web site, what's the big deal, if you like to read this stuff great...

If not, don't bag it, just read something else...

Local news is sometimes far more interesting than the national stuff. Even if it is D2, so what? Nice to read some D2 for a change...

Where are Waverley, eltham, DV, hume, etc local media articles??? If there are any, I hope the league would put them up too.

The league does, provided the clubs forward them in. The problem is they don't.

Also a lot of the big clubs don't seem to want to make the effort with the local media

Not true...It is very difficult to get Fairfax or News to cover the clubs. Much cudos m,ust go to Row Ward who pushes tthem to cover local games.

That is why we are doing it ourselves!

The basketball coverage through local media was excellent up until about 2010 but since then it has dropped right off. The number of journalists employed by these media groups has also declined so theres no surprise why the basketball coverage has reduced considerably.

If your Club can get local media coverage its a bonus - even the Melbourne NBL & WNBL teams struggle to get decent coverage from Age & Herald Sun.

So don't be a hater of the lower levels of basketball because you know the players currently playing Big V Championship, SEABL & NBL all came through one of these lower divisions of Basketball to get to where they are now.
