Croc and president of the NBL players association, Jacob Holmes says a community model similar to Wollongong and Cairns might keep the club alive.

The article on the NBLPA site says that the players are not after more money. And only want to grow salaries with revenue. Wasn't it just the other week they were pushing for an increase in the salary cap? Not sure they'd be so keen to see a reduction in the cap in line with revenue?

Holmes should be doing everthing as the NBLPA president to ensure that all have jobs next season and ensure the NBL is around for years to come. Right now the talk is that the SEABL will take over the about to be defunct NBL.
Also talk that if the NBL get their way a new team might be in the NBL to keep it as an 8 team comp.
