NBA League Pass HD..? Really?

Guys,
I've been in contact with Neulion, who apparently handle the HD streaming of the NBA League Pass. I've worked as a video editor for 20 years and know HD formats pretty well, although I struggle to see how the NBA League Pass is considered HD. Has anyone actually looked into this? I mean for starters the video player is only 960x540. Minimum HD requirements are 1280x720 (720p). The annoying this is that I've had over 200 emails with tech support, and no one seems qualified over there to answer simple questions. Its a bit of a joke really since they (NeuLion) are a company who are supposed to specialise in streaming HD content across various sports. Nearly a whole season has passed since I began emailing them with my complaint. I can't believe its taken this long, and still there has been no breakthrough. Its not a HD service, yet its advertised as HD. Is anyone even aware of this problem?

Its the best service going around. Sure it might not be HD but it better than anything you will find outside of hd post game torrents. I find the quality fine considering the cost. Maybe its only HD in the US?

I've got super fast broadband and watching full res NBA League Pass on Apple TV is MILES ahead of NBL on One HD or pretty much anything else coming through regular TV. I don't know about the technicalities and actual resolutions and what not, but I know that it looks incredible and makes NBL on One HD look like I'm watching a VCR recording.

Perhaps instead of having a 200 email exchange with tech support you could trial it for a month (I think they might be having a free period to start playoffs?) and see whether it meets your requirements. Would it even be a deal breaker if it wasn't 1080HD?

I have a full HD 60" led tv. Run my league pass thru an amp and surround system via hdmi from my laptop. Amp upscales to 1080 and I get a crystal clear image for 90% of the game. Occasionally quality drops for numerous reasons. But that is just on the normal league pass so if you can't justify the hd cost - then don't buy it... Simple

It's defiantly not true HD, upscales do not prove this. But as others have said it's still very watchable. I've got relatively good broadband, live in inner Melbourne close to an exchange, but it struggles to run fluidly at the highest quality anyway. Hanging out for NBN speeds.

My issue is that they are advertising it as HD, but it definitely isn't. And no matter how many times I've tried to explain this to them, they just seem to brush my comments away. Anyway... I decided to make a video exposing this problem. Feel free to take a look:
