Brendan Joyce linked to Wildcats

Former Brisbane and Gold Coast coach Joey Wright was believed to be among candidates to replace Beveridge if he chooses to accept a job offer from overseas.

But Wright today accepted the post with the Adelaide 36ers.

Wright was one of the leading contenders for the Wildcats job following Scott Fisher's shock resignation in 2008, but ultimately opted to re-sign with Brisbane.

Brendan Joyce has also been linked to the Cats' job.

Beveridge is considering options to coach in China and the United States and has attracted interest from other NBL clubs, including Adelaide.

Beveridge is technically contracted to the Wildcats until June 30 but is on annual leave until Thursday and could not be contacted yesterday.

Wouldnt Shawn Dennis be the front runner?

Good to see that the 36ers snapped up Wright, who appears to have been the best free agent coach outside of Bevo who must be looking outside of the NBL.

Anyone who watches Wollongong games with the audio on would be very keen on any of these ideas!

As a Wildcats fan - No thanks

As someone who watches most NBL games and therefore has to listen to his very annoying style of "commentary" stroking his own ego more than actually commentating.. - If it gets him off the commentary team

Would prefer Dennis to be elevated.

a match made in heaven. They deserve each other. Perth has an all or nothing approach & Joyce pushes things to the limits. Let the fireworks begin.

I'd say Dennis will coach the Cats and Luke Nevill may even be back in the red.

Shawn Dennis was at Luke Nevill's 26 point 14 rebound, 4 block SBL game the other day.

Anything that keeps him out of the commentary booth is OK with me.
