Spurs vs Warriors, Game 1

For the first time 3 Australians will face off in an NBA playoffs match tomorrow. Bogut and Baynes are both coming off games where they were in full beast mode while Patty can lose his shit and rain threes at any time. This will be an exciting series!

Bogut is a lock to play solid minutes, Baynes will be used when needed but not sure how much game time Mills will get, hopefully the coaches see the sense of the occasion for us little 'ol Aussies down under and play them all at the same time (once or twice)...

You won't see it on the stat sheet but Baynes dominated Dwight.

Dwights got a history of being frustrated by beefy white dudes. The Jazz used to have a guy that would only wheel out to play significant minutes against Dwight and always did well.

can't remember the dudes name though.... which pretty much says it all about his career...

Big 3rd qtr by the dubs, with Curry closing it out on fire!

Wow, that was just ridiculous, 22pts in a quarter from Curry! Losing the handle and just picking it up and shooting was the ultimate heat check!

Curry is just ridiculous.

Why is it that as a basketball purist the following three things are true:

a). Nothing makes you madder than guys missing silly, wild shots.
b). Guys making well-thought-out, high percentage shots makes you happy.
c). Flying in the face of the above, guys MAKING silly, wild, dumb shots makes you the happiest.

Ginobili is coming to life for the Spurs too...

One feels Bogut needs to have a big 4th quarter to ensure the Warriors have a chance to close this one out on the road.

If previous fourth quarters are anything to go buy, the Dubs will ignore him completely and play entirely from the perimeter...

Second game in a row where they have just refused to let Bogut be a factor down the stretch. Get the big fella the ball and he can create...

I think it's more that Thompson has fouled out. Ever since, they have struggled.

Not to mention that the Spurs were hack-a-Bogieing him at the end of the 1st half. They would've done it down the stretch too.

18 point lead and you let the game go into OT....*face palm*

Playoff experience. It counts for something.

I don't see GSW winning this in OT.

It's pretty much the same story as the last denver game. Curry has a massive third quarter and then shoots his way back into being cold, while Bogut and the other bigs get no touches in the fourth. It works while Curry is white hot but when he cools down it's just too predictable...

Hard to win playoff games entirely from the perimeter,

Richard Jefferson didn't play at all in the first three and a half quarters, but was on the floor for three minutes in the final quarter and was -11 (part of Spurs 18-2 run). Bogut was on the bench. Bad move from Jackson. Hasn't made many, but this was one of them. Curry's shot dried up in the fourth as well.

The Warriors will rue this game. The one that got away.

Jefferson came on when Klay fouled out. Klay was big in this game, much bigger than the stats may suggest. Losing him was when the rot set in.

Wow. What a game.

If they had gone to Bogut in the 4th - who knows maybe the game would not have ended up in OT.

In the end a wonderful spectacle even though I wanted GSW to win.

Awh man, that would be disheartening for a young team. Ginobilli misses that shot, we have a series. Makes it, will be tough for the Warriors to bounce back :(

@ The_Champ33

You do realise that Tracy McGrady has played 5 minutes in these playoffs in TOTAL.

Are you trolling or just living in 2003?

I'm still curious to see what T-Mac can do and think he can be an x-factor.

He is with a no nonsense coach and team. A lot of people to pull him in line.

Partly living in 2003. Definitely no troll

Jarred Jack can not make an inside pass. He needs to feed it to Bogut to post up but never gets it to him. Sure he can create for himself and make some big plays but needs to make the pass inside. When Curry is drying up they need another scorer and not just Thompson for more threes. They need to utilize Bogut on offense.
