best 3 point shooter - EVER?

Curry has been really impressive of late, but who's the best pure long shooter of all time?

Someone who could make your jaw drop with their unbelievable ability ...

Hard to gauge because of the attention defenders give certain shooters.

Though, I've seen anyone pop in threes like Steph Curry does. Range and contested shot making is incredible.

I'm definitely not passing judgement, but Allen isn't as good as what people would expect when looking at the percentages.

Stephen Curry is in hot form now, but still young and yet to fully cement a legacy. Could overtake everyone in years to come.

Don't at all agree with Bird being atop, considering how little threes he took in his career as well as his percentage.

Houston, Sprewell, T-mac, those guys were just sooo streaky. Some nights, you'd say those guys were in contention for best shooter ever, then other nights you'd say "wtf was I thinking when I said that?" Fun to watch though.

Mark Price shot 40% from 3 for his career (86-98) and
90.4% from the free throw line.

Price also became the second player, after Larry Bird, to join the NBA's 50-40-90 Club for those who shot at least 40% from three-point range, at least 50% from the field and at least 90% from the free throw line in a single season, and is still one of only six players to have ever done this while also achieving the NBA league minimum number of makes in each category.
Then tried his hand at coaching in the NBL haha

Mark Price's stint as an NBL coach is not on his bio. I'm pretty sure it's also not on his personal resume.

I am the worlds greatest ever 3 Point shooter.

Ok, in the absence of any credible evidence to back that up, and in all seriousness.....Darryl Pearce. When the "Iceman" was on fire there was none better, in the NBL at least (I still remember watching him on the TV tear Newcastle apart in 1988). Pearce might not have had the best career % from outside the 3, but I'd pick him any day of the week.

Steve Nash has to be the one. Out of the top-10 NBL all-time three-point percentage leaders, he is eighth at 0.428, but has taken a massive 3,915 attempts. Next closest attempts is Hubert Davis with 1,651. So Nash has taken WELL more than double the amount of attempts than anyone else in the top-10, yet percentage wise is only 0.026 behind the all-time percentage leader, Steve Kerr.

And another vote for Nash. Out of the top-30 NBA all-time leaders in three point field goals made, Nash is tenth with 1,677 - but his percentage made is well in front of anyone else on the list.

For the NBL I always thought Andrew Parkinson but in all seriousness how do you look past CJ Bruton.

As for NBA hard to look past Dale Ellis, Chuck Person, Mark Price or Dan Majerle but I'm gonna say 'Pistol' Pete Maravich... His bio is extraordinary

Dale Ellis had one of the best strokes, but Ray Allen is the master. Has more clutch shots then LBJ. That's why Heat signed him. Mark my word Ray Allen will take the winning shot for the title in game 7, not LBJ. I train my team to shoot he Ray Allen drill. The boys are knocking 3's like layups.

His shot was attrocious but Shane Heal for me was the best in NBL. When he caught fire no one could stop him, closely followed by John Rillie who had the better action. Ian Davies held the ball too far back like Hammer.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/371764-top-10-greatest-3-point-shooters-ever

Check out above Bleacher Report article about their top 10 list of three point shooters.

Top 5 are;

1. Reggie Miller
2. Steve Kerr
3. Larry Bird
4. Ray Allen
5. Steve Nash

Take it with a grain of salt though, as at number 10 they have Vernon Maxwell, a career 32% three point shooter?!?!?

There are two statistical lists available for three-point shooting. One is 'Three Point Field Goals Made', the other is 'Three Point Percentage'. Of the top 30 players shown on these lists on NBA.com, there are only six players who appear on both lists - Steve Nash, Dale Ellis, Kyle Korver, Mike Miller, Brent Barry and Allan Houston.
