Taipans announced on Facebook that they will announce a player signing tomorrow morning. Not a current player or import says ATF. College? Someone like Mitchell Young since Edwards isn't returning.

Maybe Jeromie Hill, although he has a year left at college. If the Nevill rumours turn out to be true Hill would be an excellent fit.

Trig needs to play next to a big that can space the floor/play d - protect the rim/let him play on the block by himself
Main guys are Crosswhite and Davidson. Trig has played with Neville in the past and it didn't really work.

He's a good young player, not sure the Taipans need another 6'9 big man though.

Will be a solid back-up, and paul, I think the emphasis here is that he's a young guy who will most likely stick around for a while.

Good point. In terms of next season they need a genuine big and a mobile 3-4 and can only sign one of them. I guess if they get a big they can play a slower style to negate the lack of mobility, theyll just need a very good press-breaker.
Will they get a import sf/pf in the Edwards mould?
Is A.Bruce a confirmed signing or still just a rumour?

good signing for cairns gives them a great backup. Gliddon, steindl and young form a future nucleus

Young won't be the new Ben Allen. Young is an inside player, blocks shots and goes after rebounds. Allen jacks up 3s all day and is scared to rebound.
Re: Aaron Bruce signing with Cairns. Taipans passed on him. It's looking very likely he'll be without a team this season unless Townsville or Melbourne want to take a shot with him.

Young will definietly not be another Ben Allen.
Will be a great pickup; a genuine inside-out player that is very athletic.

Young will be a solid back up in the league in a few years time....expect might take him some time to adjust.
Interesting re Bruce, plenty of talent, on his day almost the best aussie guard around, i assume its attitude/off court things that have gone wrong with him?
Young seems to be a good pick up, correct to think he is in the Dowdell mould? Doesnt mind physical play, decent rebounder and defender.

Young is a banger and has improved his free throw shooting massively. Have to give him credit for that alone!

Youngs body is still least couple years away from being big enough to deal "banging" for boards in the NBL.
