Conclusion: The Wariors cannot win this series without Bogut on the court!

Not to mention they are something like +15 with him on the court and -18 with him on the bench.

Wow, I thought Bogut had been doing well but I had no idea the figures would be THAT good! Imagine how much better they'd be if he could close out on Duncan a little better!

Just goes to show that if the Boomers can get a healthy Bogut on the floor and build the right team and gameplan about him, they can challenge for a medal in the next couple of tournaments!

Beantown, Duncan is shooting 41 percent for the series, well down on his usual clip.

How can pop not play mills and baynes!? Oh wait wrong thread, this one has logic. Bogut is legit, has managed to change his game and still a major factor come the most important time of the bball season.

I've said it before (usually to a retortive chorus of scorn and derision) and I'll say it again: when healthy, Bogut is the best defensive center in the league. The way he can use his feet, body, AND hands is second to none. Most of the other bigs considered in the defensive elite only record large block and rebound numbers in the boxscore. They can't body guys into bad shots or alter shots with the arms up straight. They are usually just good weakside help defenders. Huge difference.

spot on anon above spot on. this forum is littered with "box score junkies" Bogut alteres so many drives to the hoop that dont show up on the boxscore.

Agree with anon 418864. He's a legit defensive "presence" not just stat hoarder, and the way he guarded Tim Duncan 1 on 1 through games 1-4 was fantastic. Unfortunately there's always an implicit asterisk next to Bogut's name when mentioned, and the asterisk is "when healthy". Hence more stat-oriented guys get the mentions.

He is best suited to a team like GSW where there is zero pressure for him to score.

Bogut is an absolute beast (when healthy). Baynes looks to be shaping up the same.

All effort kinda player, too many show boats in the league atm
His team mates included. Curry & Thompson have pretty shots but when its not fallng, take it to the hole alah LBJ style!
Nearly a 30point swing towards GSW when he's on court
Bloody awesome
Boguts in a zone atm , doing all the lil things right
Love him getting rewarded with those monster alleys

He just needs a good offseason of rehab and he'll be well on his way to fulfilling his potential. In that sense it will almost better in the long run if the dubs just get knocked out in the next game. He still looks very limited and uncomfortable on offense (outside of dunks). He was never Hakeem Olajuwon, but he's still behind offensively where he was at when he went down with the arm injury a couple of years back. His defense is right there though.

Looks really limpy. His ankle must be still pretty dodgey.

What's going on with his free-throw shooting? I can understand that his elbow must be severely affecting his stroke, but his FT% has progressively gone down throughout his career: from 74% in his dominant 2003 junior world champs, to 64% and 69% in his college days, to 63% as an NBA rookie, to sub-60% thereafter in Milwalkee (except for 63% just before his elbow injury). Now he is lucky to be above 50% from the line.

He used to have a some sort of a jumpshot as a junior, in that he could hit the 3 if left open. He even displayed some range for the Boomers back in the 2008 Olympics.

I always considered him to be a confidence player who thrived on responsibility.

His right arm is stuffed, and will never be the same again. He'd be better off re-training himself to shoot the ball left handed. He'll never be an elite shooter, but if he could get his free throw clip up to 70-75%, he'd be much more valuable and be able to stay on the floor longer in clutch situations. He's always been great with his left hand around the basket, I'm sure he'd be able to shoot free-throws left handed too.

Pretty strong claim there, Vart, and pretty depressing. He certainly doesn't seem to be that comfortable shooting any more.

Is it something which will come right over time, or does he need more surgery?
