Nets combine video, lots of dellavedova

Great video showing some of the stuff that went on at the recent brooklyn nets combine. Look for number 13 Matthew Dellavedova ripping it up!

Quote from Draft Express regarding the combine:

Matthew Dellavedova, St. Mary's - Dellavedova did a good job making up for lost time after electing to skip the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament and seeing that decision backfire after not being invited to the NBA Combine in Chicago last week. He ran his team very effectively in New Jersey, showing strong ball-handling skills, timing and court vision on the pick and roll, and the ability to make jump-shots off the dribble when defenses went underneath screens. Dellavedova measured a solid 6-3 without shoes, but sports just a 6-4 wingspan, which hampers him primarily on the defensive end, an area he struggled in both in college and in this setting. His unselfishness and high basketball IQ could nevertheless convince a team to use a NBA roster spot on him as he appears to be more than talented enough to hold his own on the offensive end of the floor at either guard spot. He also looks willing to, at the very least, put the effort in defensively to not embarrass himself.

Wow. Has anyone told the staff at Draft Express that there are ways of playing great defense without coming up with steals and blocks?

What a hack.

I heard a few people there rated him as one of the best if not the best at the combine. apparently he started a little slowly and then just took control. I doubt it he will get drafted but he will perform well during summer league and I think he will be on an NBA roster next season.

He gets a personal scouting report from Barack Obama himself.

Don't you know anything?

Do we assume that as this combine is run collectively by Brooklyn, Houston and the Clippers that these three teams have a personal interest in the players invited?

Delly is such a great teammate and leader, you can visibly see him in this video slapping guys on the back, and clapping made shots by others, in DRILLS! And these are probably guys that he doesn't even know. Well done Delly! Keep playing hard, and doing what you've always done, and good things will happen, regardless whether it be in the NBA or elsewhere.

Having a short wing span doesn't relate only to steals and blocks, it also inhibits your ability to play smothering defense against players that do have superior height/wingspans/athleticism in the NBA. See Jaryd Bayless' trex arms. He can absolutely make up for it with effort, that's what they're talking about.

Delly is going to the T-Wolves camp as well so some more exposure coming.

Seems like he will at least be getting a Summer Camp invite if he goes undrafted.
Just an assumption from the invites and good feedback so far.

Seems to be the only guard who's feet where set on shots while everyone else faded to the side or forward, his defence was fine from what's shown on video, and not much else you can see. Doesn't really give a good glimpse at what they say all day
