Brett Brown named 76ers Head Coach

The Sixers have decided to hire San Antonio assistant coach Brett Brown as their new head coach, the Daily News has learned.

Brown replaces Doug Collins, who was not retained after this past season. Brown was an assistant for the past seven seasons under Gregg Popovich. Before that, he was the Spurs' player development coach for five years. He was also a candidate for the vacant Boston Celtics job to replace Doc Rivers and was up for the Denver job that went to Brian Shaw.

Beat me to it!

Good luck to him in his new job. He certainly has a pretty good resume.

Why do people post rumours as fact?

Not sure how you can call it a rumour.

Wouldn't be surprised if either Mills, Gary Neal or Delly end up at Philly

Sam Hinkie (Sixers GM) denied this.

The 76ers GM has come out and denied it suggesting "nothing has happened of substance".

Brown coaching the 76ers is not a definite yet.

Rumour should be included in thread title until 100% proven it's a fact. IF TRUE I wish Brett Brown good luck

Okay - so quoting a news organisation's web site saying he's not 76ers' coach is 100% proof it hasn't happened but quoting a news organisation's web site saying he is 76ers' head coach is not 100% proof it has happened, it's just a rumour.

I'll have to think about that. No, on second thoughts, I won't waste my time thinking about it.
