Iverson set to announce retirement

Allen Iverson is set to announce his retirement today.
In my opinion he will be a sure Hall of Famer!
There is no one in history who could match his effort on the court. He gave 100% everytime he steped on the floor.
Sad how he ended his career on such a downer, but if you rewind back to his prime no one could stop him one on one.
He carried a mediocre team on his own all the way to the finals in 2001 and even stole a game off the Lakers who hadn't lost all post season.

Would be awesome if we could get him out to the NBL for a year as rumoured in the past with the Kings.
But dont see it happening.

He gave 100% everytime he steped on the floor.
That puts him well behind all the athletes who give 110%. ;)

He should spend his retirement being an advisor for the NBPA giving talks to rookies on how not to spend their money

Definitely a Hall of Famer.
Toughest little man of all time.
Knocked out over & over, but kept climbing back up.
Carried the load his entire career.

The cause of the NBA dress code policy. Hahaha!

The late stages of the career is a shame, but rookie and prime years are memories for life.

Imagine how much better his teams could have been if he turned up to practice.

I agree with Bobby Tables.

If you haven't played professionally for a couple of years, and no one will give you a job....aren't you essentially retired already?

Iverson had his moments (and some very good ones at that), but he belongs to a generation of selfish, me-first guards who never really quite got there. "Starbury", "Stevie Franchise", "Me-myself-and-Iverson". Nicknames say it all.
