SA Country - difference between Sharks and Magpies teams?

Possibly a stupid or ignorant question, but what is the difference between the sharks and the magpies? Does only 1 team compete at the nationals and which team is the "better team"? I've never been involved in Sa country, just interested in how this part of it works

Neither team competes at Nationals. Both are made up teams from the squad to play in a make believe country only nationals.

They are (I believe) relatively evenly split - neither is an "A" group. The nationals team is then usually picked from either/both squads.

Sharks and Magpies teams, are split from a squad of 20 chosen to play at Albury Country Cup. NSW Country, and Vic Country split 2 teams evenly from a squad of 20 for Albury also. From those 20, and with possible inclusions to the initial squad, the team of 10 are then chosen to play at the Nationals.
