Tigers release Ubaka, replacement coming

good news for the NBL today, Ubaka.. probably the dud of the imports this year has been moved along.

I heard talk that Tigers were talking to Luther Head, does anyone know where things stand with that at the moment? would be great to have yet another NBA guy in the league.

failing that, wouldnt hurt to pick up Jesse Sanders.

Wish people would stop mentioning Sanders.

He is no more than a role player. Tigers need more than that to be legit

If the thread about a past import returning to the nbl is to believed it will be Corin Henry or Cedric Jackson going to the tigers. Whoever they get will be an upgrade over Ubaka.

Cedric Jackson won't be playing for Melbourne.

Ubaka's been cut by Melbourne twice now, back for a 3rd?

Ten telecast suggested Ubaka was cut by Tigers and they will be making an announcement within next 24 hours.

Carfino and Rosen wouldn't get it wrong, surely not.

I am hoping for Luther Head. would be good to snag an NBA player who I actually know before even having to research them... Was a good player for houston not that long ago.

Centrebet has withdrawn NBL odds, either for a weekly review or waiting on this announcement. If it's who I've heard it is, we will have a great championship race on our hands, especially if Young takes Sydney up into that bracket with Perth and Adelaide.

Still amazes me that Goulding was $11 for MVP while averaging 26 PPG. He's now averaging 27.3 PPG and (I believe) about to get another good distributor in the team. Meanwhile, Ennis was paying $3 and while he is #2 in scoring, #4 in rebounding and top five in 3P%, Knight is going to take up a few shots and boards, and Redhage will get some attention too. Worthington is a bit more passive, as is Morrison - if Goulding wants to take the shots, he's going to get his chance.

What? MVP odds $11 for Goulding that is crazy!

Isaac do you know when the Tigers are expected to announce?

Could you give any hints of who you have heard?

Not to mention Beal as well Isaac. (Just when teams thought they only had to deal with Ennis, up pops Beal and his shooting form to go with Knights successful return)

Honestly though, if Beal keeps this up, he could easily be in the mix as well.

Lance.. I am watching some video of him. I don't think its underwhelming.. Its not quite Sam Young and James Ennis but this guy is just another very good import to add to what has been our best import year in like 15 years.

Interesting @shaneheal commenting another NBA players in the nbl on the Tigers possibly signing a NBA player to replace Ubaka.

You think he is directing attention away from the fact his team doesn't have a point guard after sacking Sanders and play Perth this week!

I'm sure Damian and Perth players cant wait for the game. The "Red Army' will be rocking. #turnoversgalore
