Why do teams at this level bother with signing imports? how about you save your money and or if you do have some money to spend, start paying some local talent like the football clubs do.

Some teams find the combined benefit on-court, with the juniors and in local schools is worth getting an import, but I'd certainly like to see more money spent locally. It would be good if there were more NBL bench players to offer these roles to.

Would be great if teams offered this money to 1 local "Star" player whom did the work in the community and with the kids as it would be a long term role and benefit to the program.

What Aussie wants to live off $500 a week and do that when you can have a job and still play at the same level, imports are on a paid holiday much like if an Aussie goes to Europe for 6 months and gets a job to help get by.

Sunbury are too big and half way through the season will cut some of them when they are near the bottom and realize they need a change.
