Farewell to the Big Dog?
If you want a real subplot to tomorrow night's Holmes v Woodville final, consider this: it could be the Big Dog's last game in the green n gold. He's apparently staying tight lipped on his plans, but at his age, the end can't be far away. If you can't imagine the big hairy one walking away, then consider this - the injuries are mounting up and what a way to finish the career. I'll put my money on him announcing it after the game, with a trophy in one hand and a mike in the other.
A hot tip too - should the green machine win, he may not be the only one to hang them up.
Gold stars to their young guard, Birmingham, who by all reports isn't in the 12 tomorrow night. Watch this kid play U20s and reserves, and you'll see why Woodville are so keen to retain him. Chin up kid - your time will come.
Does anyone else know wassup with the Big Dog? Would be good if someone brought out a rocking chair, like they did with Kareem all those years ago. Would be a good laugh, and would probably help Whitmore's back more than those horrible court-side chairs when he's on the bench.
