BNSW Metro League Round 1

Ahh well well, what an exciting round of basketball that was the first round of the BNSW Metro League, arguably the strongest and deepest league in the nation.

Let us banter and discuss some of the results from the past weekend.
I observed some of the Manly women's teams get fisted by Sutherland, and I also heard that Norths U18M1 team got the W over the heavy favourite Hills by 2. And my my my, 2 free throws after regulation by Hills U12M1 to win the game against Norths, after Norths had just hit free throws to put them up.

Banter, banter, banter!

Anyone know who won in the U18M and U16M Bankstown vs Penrith?

Strongest league in the nation.I don't think so . Victoria still strongest by far & NSW country teams playing in CPL still beat your so called tough teams in metro

NSW Country CPL genuinely is of a higher standard than Metro League these days. Illawarra, Gosford and Newcastle all send out higher quality sides than most clubs in Metro League

Let's not get too excited about country ball here - NSW Country have seen success only in the past 12 months, historically their record is poor (like Norths).

Ahh it seems one small minded New South Welshman wants to paint all Victorians with the same brush, interesting!

Be realistic Rex, we are not good enough to attract Tasmanians...

Very surprising that Penrith beat Bankstown in 18M1... Do Penrith have any big names playing for them this season?

Penrith have a few big names, Kevin Rutemba, Marshal Ndebelle, and Stephen Hanna to name a few.

Maybe they think all they need to do is show up? Being on time maybe optional...
