Stat query about fouls on shot attempts

Hi all when keeping stats and a person is fouled when shooting and misses is that shot recorded as a missed shot. Thanks in advance.

ghost shot , usually doesnt count because its after the fouled call

No such thing as a ghost shot. If you are fouled while shooting then the missed shot is not counted. The player will receive free throws, 2 or 3, depending on where the foul was committed.

Shot is originally called a shot. If a foul occurs and the shot is missed the shot call is reversed and foul recorded.
If there was a potential assist which was lost because of the foul then it is recorded as an assist if one or more shots are made.

Not true - only count an assist on a made bucket.

I love the way stat1 starts their post by saying "no such thing", then spends the entire post agreeing with what The Rock just said.

If a player is fouled while attempting a field goal, an assist is awarded to the player who passed to the shooter, provided the pass meets the criteria described in this section and:
- The shot is made and the basket counted or
- The shot is missed but one or more of the resulting free throws is successful. The free throws must be the result of the foul on the shooter and not a team foul penalty.
The new version of the Livestats allows for the assist to be entered at the same time as recording the free throws.
