Simmons MVP of High School National Tournament

Ben Simmons leads No. 2-ranked Eagles to prestigious Dick's Sporting Goods High School National Tournament at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Lucas000 - WTF - the kids only a junior in High School not yet at College. Might be an idea to see which College he goes to and then assess his likelyhood of becoming a top 5 NBA draft pick. The kid may be incredible now, but, when he goes to College (if he does) then he will be competing against A LOT OF TALENTED PLAYERS. Reign in your enthusiasm!!!!

Pretty amazing for a high-school junior to be so dominant against all of the other top ranked high schools. But I suppose when your 6'10", 235 pounds with freakish athleticism and a smooth jumper you can probably dominate just about anyone.

Anon12 - Ben must go to college, as he is no longer classified as an international player by NBA draft rules. He has committed to LSU.

The same way i knew Westbrook, Melo, Harden, Wade, Griffin, Love etc. would go high. They were freaks even in high school.

That's great news! Vart can you confirm that he is now legit 6'10? Last I heard he was only 6'8. Awesome if he has already sprouted two more inches and if he's really 235lbs then he almost has the archetypal size for an NBA power forward already!

Very impressive! He turns 18 in July so is basically playing against kids his own age right now, even though a H.S junior. Can't wait to see what happens when he goes to college and develops even more. Montverde could easily 3peat next year.
