And Tessa Lavey, she's so far out of depth

Have you actually seen Lavey recently? I think you're selling her short. Yeah, she's a few years away from being legit in the Opals squad, but (a) LORD knows we need to keep pushing development for young up-and-coming PG's, and (b) she's probably the best PG coming out of the ranks in SEABL, unless you count Bec Cole who is a more natural SG on the international stage.

Don't tell me that its sustainable for us to keep trotting out Harrower, Hurst, Flannagan et al. We need to be working on Australia's starting point guard for 5-10 years down the line. The men have Mills, Delly and Exum all lined up. The women have.. Mitchell? Phillips? Two players who will only be in their prime for max 5-6 years.

And if you've seen her recently, she's in ridiculous shape. Definitely making the best of her opportunities to stay at the AIS and improve herself.

Camp dates are June 15 - 20 and a bit more information about the camp in this article about Jackson:
http://www.smh.com.au/sport/basketball/lauren-jackson-undergoes-surgery-but-opals-confident-of-her-fitness-for-world-champs-20140607-zs0nx.html

one thing is does say, Kunek is out for 3 - 4 months after shoulder surgery, and she hasn't been ruled out for the World Championhips, but you think there would be others in a better position who can play the same role.

Yes have seen Lavey recently and didn't impress at all not for opals level, watched her play against dande SEABL, Clydesdale , toddhunter and antoniadou their 17 yr old PG ran rings around her, yes she can hit the 3s but so can all of them, and that's just one team, all with a variation in not only age but experience. Definitely do not think she's the best PG in SEABL at all

I remember in state camps some players on the cusp of not making the team were able to hang around longer through injuries.

Phillips is NOT a point guard. Better suited as a 2 guard.

Lavey MAY get there in a few years but Mitchell is ahead of her.

^^ 478041...... Getting little carried away there with your future opals team , way more players in the mix than that, you still have un19 gems for next yr and uni games to follow to pull players from. Olympics is still a way off and they haven't finalised from the current crop yet.
