Burnie Tigers mentor Mark Radford says being selected as an assistant coach for the Australian Emus under-19 team is the ``pinnacle'' of his coaching career thus far.
Radford said it was a ``great honour'' and that it eclipsed his roles in the NBL with the Perth Wildcats and Adelaide 36ers.

He will work under the guidance of head coach Adam Caporn.

Good luck to him, I hope he does well and shines in the job. He obviously knows a bit about basketball.

168, I think with people in the spotlight they do need some media/public handling training. There are two incidents that stand out when he was assistant coach. The first is the "Joe the Cameraman" incident that resulted in Marty getting a tech foul at a critical point in a game after someone called out something to one of the refs. While the culprit was not clearly identified, some allege it was a MR comment from the bench. Others believe it was one of the Fox TV crew, or one of the sponsors sitting in row A. The second was the "hot curry" incident after another home loss (after giving up a healthy lead) some guy was serving it up to him on the side after the game while he was getting the stats sheet printed off and rather than ignore the comments like water off a duck's back, gave him a serve back.
