Clubs not posting live stats should cop a fine

Teams in our state league are expected to have capable facilities this should include a valid internet connection and a backup.
In this day and age all clubs must be accountable for the wellbeing of the sport and although a small thing it has the potential to reach the larger basketball market.
BSA start issuing fines to clubs that don't post their live stats.

I agree. It's generally the same clubs doing it repeatedly so fining them would provide the motivation to fix the problem.

Maybe BSA should pay for these internet connections. Oh and maybe they should pay the people recording these live stats as well as the score bench personnel.

Big V fine clubs for not webcasting unless technical issues prevent it and they let the league know in advance.

It is extremely hard to find experienced stats people when you have many games over the weekends.

I think only the top grade games should require stats. When you look at div 2 etc it is a waste of money for clubs to pay people for these games.

Good old Sturt must be spending too much money on the hightest paid JDO in Australia to rectify this problem! How pathetic of the Sabres!

Coach Poop you have no idea do you. What has who runs the stadiums got to do with it? CLUBS run their own AL nights and should have an internet connection in order to do so.

Running live stats of sabres vs mavs would tantamount to making snuff film. Well done sabres for not broadcasting such a masacre!

855, I think the kids are immune they see it and are at the receiving end on a weekly basis. As a few of my friends in some of the clubs say - "Loosing builds their character" - WOW!!!

Might be time for them to do some research on the developmental psychology of young kids if you think loosing week after week actually helps kids.

And we wonder why they end up moving to other sports.

If the stats are being recorded, is there a technical complication (beyond not having an internet connection) to not broadcast them live?

At last, an intelligent comment. Clearly all clubs broadcast live stats when they can. Sometimes there are problems - with the computer, with the connection, with sporting pulse, whatever. The last thing there's time for these volunteers to do is investigate and remedy any issues as the game doesn't wait for them.

Part of entry to the league should include minimum internet standards and training for new/current stats staff. If clubs don't have either, the state body should step in an run it for them and charge a fee.
