Wow jumped over the head of the guy laying it up. The look on his face was priceless 'hey what the hell just happened'!

Never get why people block like that, "all show" but why not take the easy possession rather hammering it out of court and allowing the other team to regain posession?

People swat shots to send a message. Same reason why people dunk instead of laying it up. It itimidates the offense and makes them think twice about coming in the lane.
I don't think people can count in the US. It was reported that ThonMaker had 10pts, 5rebs, and 2blks. From the just the video I counted 12pts and 3 blks! Is there a link to the boxscore?

Agree with justifying that play, a block like that changes every shot thereafter when he's in the paint or trailing, same effect as a hard foul on a guard driving.

^^^ "From the just the video I counted 12pts and 3 blks! "

I think they are playing two games a day and the 2nd day has just finished.

^^^ "Deng Adel has been impressing"

this is great exposure for these guys (Deng, Thon & Ben),

it would be great if a similar showcase was done here in Australia for say the top 30 or guys guys for the birth years of 1996, 1997, 1998 and have Deng, Thon & Ben as players to provide a bench mark for the others to be assessed off (by US coaches).
Should be done at a time when US coaches could travel here for scouting or at a suitable playing time that it can be streamed live form any coaches computer etc.. they can ask and provide player feedback

Day 2 recap from ESPN - Best Matchup

Thon Maker vs. Ben Simmons
Maker is the No. 1 player in the Class of 2016; Simmons is the second-best player in the Class of 2015. It was a matchup of both potential and productivity. Simmons had his way most of the game with his versatility scoring inside the arc, his rebounding and, at times, leading the break while demonstrating his high-level passing skills. Maker came on strong toward the end, making a 3-point shot and playing to his face-up game and protecting the rim on defense.

Maker and Simmons know each other from their time in Australia. "Ben is a skilled player who does a really good job of moving on to the next play and not worrying about his mistakes," Maker said.

Maker also said after the camp that he will be taking upcoming unofficial visits to Kansas and Missouri.

Story also has a notable mentions for Deng Adel.
-------------------------------------------
Notable
Class of 2015 No. 83 Deng Adel is seemingly closing in on a decision. The Louisville Cardinals are the heavy favorite to land the quickly improving 6-foot-7 wing. Louisville is the only school where Adel has been on campus, and his cousin Mangok Mathiang plays for the Cardinals.
