Hawks sign coach McLeod for 3 years

Good signs at the Hawks

The Wollongong Hawks are delighted to announce reigning NBL Coach of the Year and dual Olympian Gordie McLeod will lead the Wollongong Hawks for a further three years.

McLeod said he was excited to be signing a multi-year deal given the club's new direction under private ownership.

"The Hawks have proven time and again that they have the heart and the ability to mix it with the best. I look forward to leading them into the new season and giving the fans some amazing basketball action. These really are exciting times to be a fan of Basketball in the Illawarra region and I’m proud to be a part of it," McLeod said

These announcements coming from the Hawks are really positive for the NBL. The league did not need to lose one of their old teams in the midst of expansion. Things have looked shaky on and off.

A great announcement from the Hawks. Agree with Isaac, is a good sign of some stability from an original NBL club and provides confidence moving forward.
